North Gwinnett Schools Foundation Funds $48,624 in Grants
The North Gwinnett Schools Foundation held its annual "Big T-Do" fund-raiser sponsored by Suwanee Dental Care and raised more than $90,000 for the eight schools in the North Gwinnett Cluster. Each school in the cluster submitted grant requests for classroom projects and equipment that will enhance academics at their schools, including a cluster-wide program advocated by all eight principals. After reviewing these requests, the Board of Trustees met and voted to fund $48,624 in grants. The remainder of the funds will go toward building a permanent endowment. The Foundation serves as an academic booster club for the North Gwinnett Cluster schools. It is made up of parents, grandparents, community leaders and educators committed to promoting academic success for every child in the Sugar Hill/Suwanee community. Since it's incorporation in 2001, the Foundation has given out $158,558 in grants to Level Creek, Sugar Hill, Suwanee, Sycamore and Riverside Elementary Schools, the T. Carl Buice Center, Lanier Middle School and North Gwinnett High School.
